Stephen "Kinger" King
Warmup
6:30 - 7:00 PM

I'm Stephen "Kinger" King, a multi-instrumentalist with a lifelong dedication to music. I love my guitar, slinging its strings with passion, and creating soulful melodies as a singer/songwriter.

My musical exploration spans across various genres, allowing me to mix and blend different styles, including instrumental compositions.

Over the past three decades, I have poured my heart and soul into creating original music, resulting in a solo discography of nine albums. These albums represent the culmination of my recording experiences and showcase my growth as an artist over the years.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a musician is seeing the joy and smiles on people's faces as they sing along to my songs - and I do keep them smiling! - it's an indescribable feeling, and fuels my passion.

Cort Bulloch
First Act
7:00 - 7:30

Hey everyone! I'm a songwriter, singer and poet.  My music is influenced by a wide range of musical pioneers from the timeless melodies of Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams to the poetic genius of Bob Dylan and the Beatles.

I have been involved in musical residencies at the Banff Centre and meaningful projects at the Calgary Drop-In Centre, using songwriting as a way to connect with and support vulnerable populations through art.

Lockdown shifted my creative focus from songwriting to poetry. My work in poetry has appeared most recently in the anthology YYC POP, and on the stage at Dan the One Man Band's "Who Knows Variety Show".

“He's found a voice somewhere between San Francisco and Claresholm. And in that place is a deep well of poetry.”

~ Richard Harrison

Thank you for joining me at Sunnyside Summer Nights! Stay tuned for more updates, poetry readings.

The Chosen Few
Second Act
7:45 - 8:15 PM

We Chosen Few are a fun and irreverent bunch playing a sweet mix of Americana, Canadiana, Roots and Indie Folk. Guitar, fiddle, two voices and, when there’s space in the venue, we add a drummer!

For example, in this SSN website listing, Keith left a bunch of white space below - leaving us plenty of room to add our drummer:

No drummer? Check back here soon!

Steve Pineo Band - Headliner 8:30 - 9:15 PM

Hey there, folks!

I'm Steve Pineo, and I've had the pleasure of playing in Calgary's vibrant music scene for a few years now... Happy to share we're coming to Sunnyside Summer Nights, where we'll play a few tunes, span a few genres, and tap a few toes.

When it comes to the Blues, my band and I have been inspired by the legendary B.B. King, the electrifying Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the soulful Howlin' Wolf, just to name a few.

It all started for us back in 2001 when I released my award-winning album, "A Perfectly Good Friendship." Around that time, I began writing horn arrangements, and I've been staging "With Horns" shows ever since.

Our original tunes encompass a variety of genres. You'll find elements of jazz, blues, New Orleans rhythm and blues, funk, and even calypso and Klezmer in our music. It's a melting pot of sounds that keeps things fresh and exciting for everyone.

For our SSN performance, We've got Kelly Kruse on drums, Chris Brzezick on bass, Paul Wells on keyboards and sax, and yours truly on guitar. Together, we create a musical concoction that can sizzle with the intensity of jazz or groove with the soul of the blues.

So, whether you're a jazz enthusiast or a blues aficionado, we'll serve up some tasty tunes. So if you want to tap your feet, nod your head, or maybe even dance a little, come join us during our Sunnyside Summer Night.

See you at the show!
