Hello, Sunnyside Summer Nighters!
I am Maclayne, a singer-songwriter with a passion for crafting heartfelt and relatable songs that resonate. Armed with my ukulele, guitar, and piano, I am excited to bring you an intimate, emotional, and joyful night of music at Sunnyside Summer Nights on August 9.
Music has been my outlet for processing life's highs and lows, and I pour my heart and soul into penning lyrics and melodies that speak from the core of my being. My music naturally combines infectious hooks, pop-infused melodies, and the authentic spirit of folk, captivating audiences with emotive storytelling.
Anticipate my debut album, "Off The Deep End," releasing in the summer of 2023. This album was born during a transformative journey in Nicaragua in 2021, where I let go of possessions and embarked on a soul-searching adventure. The songs in this collection delve into themes of yearning for freedom, personal growth, finding a connection with nature and the divine, and navigating the raw emotions of heartbreak.
As a musician with a background in music therapy, my commitment to authenticity drives my vulnerable and honest songwriting. My hope is to create a safe space for listeners to accept and express their own emotions, fostering a deeper connection with themselves and the world around them.
Currently, I am diligently working on three lead singles, set to be released in the summer of 2023, paving the way for the highly anticipated arrival of "Off The Deep End" in the fall. In the meantime, check out demos and live sessions of some of the album's tracks on my website.
Join me at Sunnyside Summer Nights for an unforgettable musical experience. Let's celebrate the beauty of human emotions and the transformative power of music together. I can't wait to share this magical night of music with all of you.
See you on August 9!
7:00 - 7:30
I am thrilled to invite you to join me at Sunnyside Summer Nights on August 9th, where I'll be taking the stage to create an enchanting musical experience you won't want to miss. I'm Nevin Matheson, and I can't wait to share my passion for music with each and every one of you.
While I pride myself as a skilled guitarist, it's my voice that truly becomes my instrument on stage. I love commanding the notes I sing, bending them to the whims of my musical passions. Whether it's scatting, rapping, or crooning, I pour my heart and soul into every moment, leaving it all out there for the audience.
As an artist, I draw inspiration from a variety of musical influences, and I'm so excited to take you on this journey with me. At times, you might find my smooth charm reminiscent of the great Michael Bublé, while at others, you'll be transported by the masterful jazz vocals of the legendary Sting. It's all about embracing the beauty of music in its many forms.
Picture this: the warm summer breeze on your face, the stars twinkling in the night sky, and melodies filling the air. That's what awaits you at Sunnyside Summer Nights. Gather your friends, family, or that special someone, and let's create memories together under the Sunnyside sky.

I'm Taylor Lang (formerly known as Blaeser), a prairie-born multi-instrumentalist who has honed a unique musical blend of folksy indie rock with mesmerizing percussive fingerstyle guitar rhythms. My music is characterized by subtly strong lyrics and captivating melodies that draw you into an unforgettable sonic journey.
My musical journey took root with the piano, followed by drumming and bass, before finding my true passion in the guitar at the age of 15. Through countless busking sessions outside downtown bars, I earned the means to attend music festivals and met intriguing people who shaped my artistic approach.
As a chronic daydreamer and window-looker-outter, I found solace in my linguistics degree, inspiring me to craft my own songs and lyrics that delve into where I come from and where I aspire to go.
My debut album, "Songs & Others Like Them," released in April 2019, garnered critical acclaim and even earned a nomination for a Folk Album of the Year award at the YYC Music Awards. Following that success, I collaborated with several talented Calgary-based artists, including Cold Little Crow and Pluvelle, for my follow-up album, "An Audio Guide to Introspection," which arrived in fall 2022.
Join me at Sunnyside Summer Nights, where despite being a solo performer I’ll share the beats of my heart and my music, and share stories of life and landscape.
Mark your calendars for August 9, and together, let's create a compelling evening of music that will keep us together long after my last note fades.
The Great Grey is Back - Headliner 8:30 - 9:15PM
Hey there, we’re back at SSN!
We are The Great Grey, a four-piece folk band hailing from the breathtaking landscapes of Cochrane, AB. Allow us to introduce ourselves: I'm Calvin, and I'll be strumming the electric/acoustic guitar, we have Loren lending her mesmerizing vocals, Charity weaving enchanting melodies with her fiddle, and Jason adding a touch of magic on keys.
Together, we create a sound that blends the soul of Mumford and Sons with a strong Celtic influence, taking you on a musical journey through soft, ambient ballads that build into climactic, heart-stirring choruses. Oh, and you can't miss a few of our melancholy instrumentals that will tug at your heartstrings.
As a songwriter, my inspiration comes from life, death, faith, and the awe-inspiring mountain landscapes of our Canadian home. It's these very experiences that shape our music and allow us to connect with our audiences on a deeper level.
We couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of the Sunnyside Summer Nights on August 9 – following up on our fun performance last summer.
So, mark your calendars and join us at Sunnyside Summer Nights for an unforgettable evening of folk music that will take your heart and soul on a journey of emotions.
