Perhaps you've heard my music on CBC, CKUA, or Campus Radio National, as an Indie/Alternative artist.
I'm based here in Calgary, where, as a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, I've expanded into writing and producing.
I'm inspired by Coldplay, Lennon Stella & Clairo, and my music has been described, at once, as dreamy, sweet and soulful, nostalgic, and cinematic.
Best if you hear me live though, and apply your own adjectives. But wherever words you choose, I'll flavour them with a little indie energy and sparkle straight from our Sunnyside Summer Night stage

My name is Hanna, and I hail from the contrasting lands of Southern Alberta and the long white cloud of New Zealand. As a singer-songwriter, I find solace in the art of complicated times and draw inspiration from the diverse people I encounter and the breathtaking surroundings that surround me.
My music reflects the surreal undertones of everyday experiences, blending the influences of my Canadian and New Zealand roots over 10,000 miles apart. Through the literal chords of my piano, guitar, and mandolin, I craft melodies that resonate with my personal study of opposites and extremes.
Some have likened my vocal style to the later Annie Lennox, and I'm humbled by the comparison. I'm well-versed in using various instruments to complement my songwriting and eclectic collection of cover songs.
Whether performing solo, as a duo, or with a group, I feel at ease in any setting, from intimate pub gigs to formal events.
The maple leaf and silver fern hold special significance for me, symbolizing growth and connection to the places and countries that nurture my imagination. So, come join me as I pour my heart and soul into the music I create, bridging the gaps between distant lands and bringing people together through the power of song. See you on August 16!

Hi I'm Liz, can't wait to meet ya! I'm an active musician, playing live, recording, and working hard to make it happen.
My new single, "I Really Like You," was released in July 2021, and it's a cotton candy pop bop with conversational lyrics and synth elements inspired by the '80s. When asked about the song, I described it as being about catching feelings for someone. Surprisingly, it practically wrote itself in just 40 minutes one night, and it holds a special place in my heart.
Before this latest release, I had the opportunity to share my music through previous singles like "Summertime" and "Different Shoulders," both of which carried a rootsy, storyteller vibe. In fact, my musical journey began with my debut single "Fences" in 2018, and that same year, I was fortunate enough to win 96.5 CKFM's Star Search in Olds, Alberta.
As an artist, I'm constantly evolving and striving to create meaningful and captivating experiences for my listeners. Stay tuned, as I have more to share, and I appreciate having you on this journey with me.

As a versatile musician, I can easily switch gears from playing top 40 hits to throwing it back with some 80s classics. My unique talent lies in playing entirely by ear, which means I can quickly learn and adapt to the vibe of the crowd, ensuring an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
But it's not just about the music—it's about connecting with you, the audience. I take pride in being friendly, personable, and approachable. When I perform, I aim to build a genuine connection with each and every one of you, making you feel like old friends sharing an incredible moment together.
